01. April 2016

New firmware Update for Pioneer AV Receivers.

Firmware update to support Spotify and Tune In streaming services and update App-Control with iControlAV5

Pioneer would like to inform all owners of a multi-channel receiver VSX-831 and VSX-1131 that a firmware update to support Spotify and Tune In streaming services and update app-control with iControlAV5 will be available from April 1, 2016.

Owners of the concerned models will also see an on-screen firmware update dialog when the device is connected to the Internet.

Deezer, Tidal, Google Cast and FireConnect will be available for both models after a firmware update coming in summer 2016.

Firmware update to support dts:X™ available on various Pioneer AV Receivers this summer.

Pioneer wants to inform all owners of a 2015 and 2016 AV Receiver model which is prepared for dts:X™ that the originally for autumn 2015 announced firmware update by DTS will now be available later this summer to support decoding dts: X™.

dts:X™ is a new object-based audio format, which cancels the assignment of sound elements to individual channels resulting sound effects to become much more natural.

After the firmware update dts:X™ will extend the number of supported sound formats such as Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio™ and Dolby® TrueHD on selected Pioneer multichannel receivers significantly.

The following models are upgradable to dts:X™:

  • Model 2015: Pioneer SC-LX89, SC-LX-79, SC-LX59
  • Model 2016: Pioneer VSX-1131
